Presentation
MusVerre, a must for tourism in Avesnois, is both a witness to past glass craftsmanship and a showcase for contemporary glass art.
When you arrive at Sars Poteries, you cannot miss this magnificent 1000m2 blue stone building. Its refined architecture was specially designed with the aim of interacting with the Avesnois bocage, thus creating perfect harmony between art and nature.
Le MusVerre takes you into the history of the 19th century glassworks workers, who during their rest times let their imagination speak. This is how the “Bousillés” were born. Combining know-how and creativity, these objects with varied shapes and colors decorated the workers’ homes.
Find more than 230 unique pieces by artists from around the world alongside those of glass artisans. It is the richest collection in France, and one of the most important in Europe.
Twice a year, MusVerre changes its appearance thanks to its temporary exhibitions, enough to delight its most loyal visitors!
Want more? MusVerre also offers workshops, activities, guided tours and demonstrations!
