Maubeuge zoo

In 1995, Dr. Pierre Forest, then mayor of Maubeuge, created the Jardin de la Roseraie, which would later become Maubeuge Zoo. The first residents were a couple of chimps, a camel, guinea pigs, pigeons, peacocks and ducks. The first giraffe arrived in 1963

Nestled in the lush greenery of twelve acres inside the city fortifications, Maubeuge Zoo now houses more than three hundred animals of different species. A true Noah's Ark peacefully unfolds before your very eyes! It's a chance to look at the world like a child again, roaming across the prairies and through the jungles of far away lands..

Events and shows, special encounters - the zoo's birthday, behind-the-scenes tour, zookeeper for a day, and others.
